The SumoSalad Story
After spending a couple of years in the Big Apple surrounded by doughnuts, shakes and super-sized fries, a couple of twenty-something Sydneysiders, Luke Baylis and James Miller wanted to create a healthy yet delicious eating alternative for all Australians.
They had quickly realised that Australia was following the unhealthy American trends of obesity, poor diet and exercise and they wanted to help make Aussies change their eating habits.
The idea was to offer fresh ‘design your own’ salads, made to order, which used only the freshest, most nutritious ingredients, satisfying every hunger. 2003 saw the opening of the first SumoSalad store on Liverpool Street, Sydney CBD. It was an instant success!
