Escape the grind and kick back in our colourful art and ideas pop up, Level Up. This exciting space is a bold, urban creativity hub. With the help of 107 Presents, we’ll be filling it with diverse experiences curated for our local community. Explore Level Up on Level 2.
This month the space is available for you to chill out on a lunch break, work away on your laptop, collaborate with mates or simply grab a selfie inside this wonderland of colour. With free Wi-Fi and an impressive installation, created by lead artist Jeff McCann, there’s a new way to experience creativity and collaboration at Central Park Mall.
As the year gains momentum, so will our programming! Look out for a themed bar, fashion shows, live music and performance. Including events in partnership with Art Month and talks and ideas by TEDxSydney.
Sit down, unpack and use our creative workspace to Level Up your next big idea.
In collaboration with 107 Projects and 107 Presents, we hope that Level Up becomes your go-to space to create and learn all things inventive, imaginative and playful.
We’ll be using #LevelUpCPM to share some of our favourite moments and encourage you to get in on the action too. Follow us on Instagram, Facebook and WeChat as we share all new programming details and keep you up to date with our latest artistic happenings.
IN THE SPACE
JEFF MCCANN - LEAD ARTIST + 107 RESIDENT ARTIST
This body of work Kinetic-Kit was originally created for an exhibition at Sydney Contemporary in 2018. A colourful interactive sculpture powered by people and kinetics. It's nostalgically futuristic, bright, bold and mind bending.
Repurposing the key pieces of Kinetic-Kit for the first iteration of Level Up is a perfect fit. We hope the playful and energetic nature of the work will encourage you to explore ideas and spaces at Central Park Mall.
Jeff McCann is a Sydney based artist/illustrator who works between the visual and performing arts through a wide range of mediums including public art, events decorations, fashion/wearables, workshops and illustration. His innovative practice strives to create inclusive work that encourages his audience to get involved.
Jeff's choice to work with primarily sustainable and second-hand materials creates a playful and tactile quality to his work. He enjoys the challenge of taking what is considered “rubbish” and transforming it into something of value again.
Jeff has worked on installation and public art projects for clients including the City of Sydney, the Queen Victoria Building (QVB), Art Pharmacy, Heaps Gay and Spilt Milk Music Festival. He has also dressed performers such as Montaigne, Thelma Plum, Haiku Hands and Nina Las Vegas.
